Data Deletion Policy

This section outlines our policy for responding to requests to delete data under applicable data protection laws. It explains the data subject's rights concerning data deletion and Wesal's responsibilities in responding to such requests.

  • Individual Rights: Individuals have the right to erasure, also known as the "right to be forgotten." The purpose of this right is to enable individuals to request the deletion or removal of personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.
  • When Does the Right to Erasure Apply? As stipulated in applicable data protection laws, individuals have the right to have their personal data deleted and to prevent processing in specific circumstances:
    • Where the personal data is no longer necessary concerning the purpose for which it was originally collected/processed;
    • When the individual withdraws consent;
    • When the individual objects to processing, and there is no overriding legitimate interest for continuing the processing;
    • If the personal data was unlawfully processed;
    • Where the personal data must be erased to comply with a legal obligation.
  • What Information Does Wesal Retain? Wesal retains data about individuals to enable their use of the App (bill payments). We store names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails (if provided) for each individual to create an account, stored on a secure hosted server. This data is stored and used following our Privacy Policy, which can be found at https://wesal.me/privacy-policy. If consent is provided, personal data (including the above, plus address, phone number, and notes) may be stored in our CRM system for purposes of contacting you regarding Wesal news, products, and promotions.
  • How to Delete Data: If you have registered with the Wesal App and wish to delete your information, we can do so upon receiving a request from you via email at [email protected] when closing your account. Data may remain in system backups, which will be periodically deleted. Information may be deleted from our database upon request sent to [email protected]. We commit to completing the deletion within one month (30 calendar days) and will send you a confirmation once the information has been deleted.
